The Uncovered Past Institute runs archaeology projects based on public participation.

Join our excavations and explore the history that lies under the surface of Australia. Any one interested in learning more about archaeology and history is welcome to take part.

Our most recent excavation, in October 2017, began to uncover the secrets of a 19th century Chinese gold-mining village at Harrietville in northeast Victoria, Australia. We are currently planning a second excavation on the site in 2019. See Harrietville Chinese Mining Village for more details.
