The Uncovered Past Institute runs archaeology projects based on public participation.

Join our excavations and explore the history that lies under the surface of Australia. Any one interested in learning more about archaeology and history is welcome to take part.

In 2017 we commenced excavating a 19th century Chinese gold-mining village at Harrietville in northeast Victoria, Australia. In 2019 we conducted a second season of excavations at this village site. Our third season of excavation at Harrietville will take place in October 2021. See Harrietville Chinese Mining Village, Season 3 - Dig with Us 2021 for more details.
